I’m Ricky and I’m the owner of the fastest growing ladies only bootcamp facility in Northampton.  We’re known as the ‘go to place in town’ if you’re a lady wanting to get rapid (but long lasting) fat loss and toning results.

We teach women that boring old cardio is a thing of the past and that the use of weights at a high intensity is a much more effective way of stripping fat and improving body composition.

Having been featured on BBC, ITV and Satellite channel Fitness TV for the work that we have achieved with our clients, it’s safe to say that we know what we’re talking about.

Since creating FitterBodyKettlebells.com I have tried to transfer the success principles that underpin our bootcamp facility and transfer them online in order to serve a wider audience.

I’m not your typical fitness guy that’s been a PT since 18 years old. My journey has been slightly different.
I’m in my late ’30s and for the first 17 years of my working life I worked in the Financial Services industry, having my own business from 2004-2011. The fact is I was never comfortable wearing a suit (check me out below presenting an award!)

Honestly, even though I’m smiling in this photo, I was far from happy! Clearly I hadn’t found my true calling at this point.

 

 

 

 

 

I love sport and I love keeping fit. I hated sitting behind a desk all day talking about mortgages and swap rates!
I’ve got a great supportive wife called Alex and 2 smashing kids Harrison and Georgina. They mean the world to me but I wasn’t seeing them in my previous role. Life was pretty rubbish. So in my early mid-life crisis state and with the full backing of Alex we agreed it was best to get out of financial services and re-train as a Personal Trainer.

These days we have a lot of fun with our business (check out the video below of my kids doing 2 hand kettlebell squats!!)

It didn’t happen overnight but I did it. Started off doing one to one stuff but soon realised that small group personal training would work much better and allow me to serve more people. Our ladies only bootcamp was then born.
Alex had gone through 2 pregnancies with our kids and I had witnessed first hand the struggles involved with trying to shift the baby weight. She had put on 4 stone when pregnant with Georgina.

This was the main reason that I decided I wanted to specialise helping women. The best bit is that Alex hated her job as well so she trained as a Personal Trainer as the business started to grow.

We kind of knew exactly what worked and exactly what didn’t work. For example cardio sucks! Long and boring steady cardio like running or biking does very little for specifically torching fat, improving metabolism and helping to get a more toned look. However as soon as you throw some kettlebells into the mix, that’s when cardio starts getting interesting.

We then also discovered that by using kettlebells during exercise with varying degrees of intensity, this produced a huge spike in metabolic rate and takes full advantage of the afterburn effect.

We have literally put sessions together whereby our members have burnt 400 calories plus in just 20 minutes using kettlebells!

We love running our own facility. It really doesn’t feel like work, but I suppose our only restriction has been that we’ve only been able to help our our local marketplace. The whole point of putting together this website and making our own digital programmes that can be downloaded in an instant is that we’re then able to help out a much larger audience.

You see when you stumble across exercise techniques that are against the ‘mainstream ideas’ but seem to produce amazing results, you can keep them to yourself as a little secret or tell the world. We have chosen to do the latter!
